Moparfest 2008 – Canada’s Largest Pure Mopar Show and Swap
For the 29th year now – the Old Chrysler Corporation Auto
Club would like to announce that this year’s Moparfest event, Canada’s
Largest Mopar show and Swap event will take place August 16-17th.
It returns
to the New Hamburg Ontario Fairgrounds, where it has been since 1993.
Each year the event is known for giving away some awesome fully restored
Mopar vehicles. Since 1992
-
30 of these vehicles have found new owners at the conclusion of the
annual event. This year if you pre-register a 1986 and older show
vehicle by August 1st, you will be entered into a draw to win a 1970
Plymouth Road Runner.
This year it’s a fully rebuilt vehicle with the addition of very healthy
440-4 bbl, making for a totally thrilling ride.
Its newly repainted high impact orange colour is complimented by
a beautiful and rare burnt orange interior.
A new set of those popular period correct Crager SS 5spoke Chrome
wheels have been added – along with a new set of P255/60Rx15 Raised
White Letter Tires. Options include dual exhaust, automatic
transmission, power steering, AM radio, and a new set of Chrome Exhaust
Tips. This is a ready to cruise, needs nothing car that really performs.

Our 13-year association with the New Hamburg Optimist (NHO) Club Ticket
Car Give-away – results in a truly awesome 1971 Dodge Super Bee as the 2nd
vehicle to be awarded at Moparfest.
It’s blinding Citron yellow paint with black longitudinal strips,
along with the black hood treatment, automatically pulls the eye toward
this vehicle. The car is professionally restored, including the
undercarriage. It’s a
numbers matching vehicle equipped with a 383 – 4bbl, power steering and
brakes, AM radio, 727 automatic, with Magnum 500 wheels.

Tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20. It will be drawn on Sunday August
17th at the conclusion of the event, with all proceeds going
to youth and community work. You do not need to be present to win this
car.
Event organizers are extremely grateful to long time show sponsors, Ted
and Mike Woods from Wellington Chrysler Dodge of Guelph Ontario. Each
year the Woods family brings together over a dozen local Chrysler
dealerships that then collectively provide a door prize open to all
Saturday vehicle participants.
Again this year through their efforts, they are offering a factory
380 HP -360ci crate engine
for Saturday’s door prize. A big Thank you to his group for this awesome
prize!
In addition to the above – the show offers its traditional activities:
an Indoor Display of special interest vehicles, 2 Engine Blow Contests,
a sold out swap meet area, main-stage entertainment, and children’s
activities. The For Sale
Car Coral, along with the local dealers showing new and special feature
vehicles are also part of the event.
Moparfest continues to be a top North America pure Mopar event.
To date the event has raised 1.5 million Dollars for 14 different
youth and community groups who participate.

spectators expected over the weekend.
